Excerpt from Illinois Register, Vol. 14: Rules of Governmental Agencies, July 13, 1990The Department is changing its policies and procedures relating to use of State telephones as a result of Illinois Bell Telephone tariff changes. The introduction of measured local service charging the State far all local calls in downstate areas (springfield, Peoria, Collinsville, Rockford, etc.) and the restructuring of measured telephone service in Chicago has required the Department to reevaluate and establish its policy regarding the reasonable use of State telephones by employees during business hours. This policy was adapted from the policy used by the General Services Administration.
