Part of the excavations were directed by my old friend the Rev. J. Garrow Duncan, who, many years ago, had worked very carefully at Naqada and another student, Mr. C. Gilbart-smith, after some experience in managing the workmen, also took charge of a site. The greater part of the drawings were made by my wife, and most of those from Mr. Duncan's excavations were made by Mr. T.
