Human rights, " the common value of human beings, arebased onhuman wants-on those things necessary. The meaning ofhumanrights is contested and how to apply the contestedidea of humanrights is more contested not only in Vietnam but alsoin manycountries in the world. For human rights in Vietnam, manyscholars and activists had different approaches, ideas, andconceptions. By using historical, comparative method andanalysis, I call for all sides to carry out constructivedialogues to narrow differences in human rights andbring findcommon ground on which to work out solutions to oldproblems andcontend it is wrong to use human rights as apolitical tool andoppose each other. As human rights or human dignityis inviolableand to respect and to protect human dignity is theduty of allhuman being.
