He left the state system and taught in independent schools and at an international school in Switzerland. He has also visited schools in Germany, Japan, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and the US. dunno, his novel about a troubled teenager, won an Arts Council Award in 2005. His commentaries on education and related matters have appeared in The Independent and other national newspapers in the UK.
