I started my life as anyone else. I had just graduated nursing school, but when I turned twenty-eight, my life quickly changed in many ways. As the years kept going, I was presented with many challenges that made a once-on-track life anything but, I had sixteen eye surgeries, not counting injections and other treatments to try to keep me seeing, as well as the things I wanted to still be possible. As time progressed, I soon realized that this may no longer be possible. I tried to summarize my book and all these years into a short poem.The life I lived once dark and gray, through sheets of gray rain, not a color to play. But through the clarity of the love I felt, it became clear and bright, for that life can be without a doubt, the greatest joy of all throughout. To love and hurt from dark to sight, the love I had kept things in sight. My favorite things I now can see, the Lord has always kept close to me!
