Goethe`s Garden is an audio collage, which draws from a range of material from the poet`s prose and lyric poetry, his notes on garden work, diary entries, and letters about this topic. The choice is completed with songs and lyric adaptions by Franz Schubert and Hugo Wolf. Rather than being informed about the objective, historic importance of the scientist and artist, we instead perceive a subjective view on the private person Goethe "keeping his garden in order" or commenting on historical conditions of his time.
