Excerpt from Genealogical Records of the Williamson Family in America: Tracing the Wives Back to the Earliest SettlersThe original ancestor in America, was born in Amsterdam, Holland. About the year 1637. He sailed for New Amsterdam (new York, ) in the ship Concorde in '1657, and immediately ottd at Gravesend, L. I.. Where we find him on the assessor's rolls in 1683 and the census of Gravesend in 1698. He took the oath of allegiance to England in 1687. In 1670 the inbahitants of Gravesehd at a town meeting allotted the tillable lands hamong- the inhabitants, and lot 32 was assigned to William Williamson, and again in 1700 aqother division of land was made and a portion asaigned to him. His will, dated December 1, 1721, is recorded in the surrogate's office in New York, page 288, lib. 9, to this and deeds he signed his nayie Wilhm Willemsen. In 1715 he and his son Nicholas'were subscribers to a fund for the support of Mr. Freeman and Mr. Antonides.
