I refer to the late Charles Augustus French, known to all of us as Colonel French.Mr. French was born in Springfield, Mass, on November 7, 1871. He attended the public schools in Massachusetts and New Hampshire after which he entered Dartmouth College pursuing an engineering course. He graduated from Dartmouth College in the class of 1893, receiving a B. S. Degree.
