During the initial stages of the curve DC the addition of neutral acetate results only in an exhaustion of this dissolved hydroxide and makes no demands upon the dioxy acetate. Con sequently, reaction (4) does not become predominant until lead hydroxide is exhausted. As a result of this we find at the upper end of CD a slight but unmistakable change of curvature.
