Enhancing the level of engagement with students by completing the Primary Years Programme in music

Master's Thesis from the year 2022 in the subject Pedagogy - School Pedagogics, grade: Summa Cum Laude, University of the People (Education Faculty), course: Masters in Education (Advanced Teaching for Elementary, Middle and Secondary), language: English, abstract: In the music programme at SilverFern International School in Thailand, the students used ATL skills to feel motivated and encouraged to be on task. There are several added benefits for them to explore, and achieve the goals and targets set for themselves. The following applied research study investigated and confirmed that using these skills through using mixed-method research, which was both qualitative and quantitative, to answer the research questions.
All teachers working in an International School setting, teaching the International Baccalaureate (IB) the curriculum would be familiar with using the various approaches to teaching and learning (ATL) skills, which included self-management skills, where students are organized, principled and accountable for their actions, and learning, research skills, where students are given the
opportunity through inquiry-based learning to collect data and inquire, through using social skills, where they exchange thoughts, ideas, and opinions despite their cultural background within a diverse setting, using their communication skills, where students are given opportunities to converse and write using these skills, and utilizing their thinking skills, where students think critically about what they have learned, hoping to research, and what findings to conclude.
