Axle Reese awakens on a beach on an uninhabited island where later he finds a cave that leads deep into the island. He discovers that the cave leads to another world. Traveling through the cave to this other world lands him into the middle of a war between a group of magically enhanced Hunters and their prey. Their sole purpose in life is to rid the world of those who are known as the Hunted.
