Economic Elites, Political Parties and the Electoral Arena
BücherAngebote / Angebote:
This book provides a scoping historical overview and analysis of the links between economic elites and the political party system in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. It establishes a novel approach to conceptualizing forms of political electoral involvement adopted by the economic elites of Latin America from the first democratization to the end of the 20th century. Then it develops a theory explaining the forms taken by this involvement in considered cases. This book's main argument is that the interaction between economic elite cohesion and popular sector mobilization at particular historical junctures determines the forms adopted by elite political involvement.
