Möglichste Vollständigkeit ist erstrebt für die Literatursprache etwa seit dem zweiten Drittel des 18. Jahr hunderts. Die Grammatik gliedert sich in fünf Teile: I. Geschichtliche Einleitung. II. Lautlehre. III. Flexionslehre. IV. Syntax. V. Wortbildungslehre. In diesem Bande sind die beiden ersten Teile vereinigt.
