Excerpt from Descriptive Notice of the Drawings and Publications of the Arundel Society, Vol. 2: Arranged in the Order of Their Issue
The writer of the present Notice presents it to the Members of the Arundel Society in the hope that it may be acceptable as rendering the series of publications produced by the Society, and its collection of drawings, useful to those who have not devoted much time to the examination of published books on Early Art.
The design of this work is to give a full and complete catalogue, with descriptions, of the publications, arranged in the order of their issue, as well as notices of the Society's collection of drawings, and biographical memoirs of the artists whose works have been illustrated, combining information in a condensed form which could only be otherwise obtained by reference to various books either not readily accessible or troublesome to refer to.
The work is published under the sanction and with the approval of the Council, but the author alone is responsible for the facts and opinions stated in it.
