Quae finitio hoc modo nobis amplificanda est: nagqeîv es t verba, scaenam, modulos, actionem alicunde sumpta loco quodam ita proferre, ut, quae suo loco severa fronte audivimus, in alium conexum translata risum moverent, quia audientes sentiunt discrepantiam, quae extat inter ipsa dicta aut acta et conexum, ita efficitur parodia. Primo forma et res inter se discrepare possunt ita, ut externa poematis specie servata mutentur quae insunt, velut in Batrachomyomachia, in Hipponactis hexametris fit. Tum singula verba, scaenas, cetera, quae huc spectant, e proprio conexu solvere et in alium transferre possumus minus aptum ad ea recipienda ita, ut nihil in iis mutemus, quod per saepe fit in comoedia. Opponitur sermo humilis stilo tragico vel epico, distant mores vitae cottidianae ab altitudine verborum quae proferuntur, ita risus movetur. Benique, quae translata sunt etiam ipsa mutari possunt, quod item invenimus in comoediae).
