His parents, Gurcharn Singh and Gursharan Kaur arrived in Delhi a few years before his birth as refugees due to the partition of India into India and Pakistan. As a child Jasprit observed how mindfulness could provide a rich life even in material poverty. Jasprit Singh is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In addition to his work in science and technology, Jasprit has deep interest in the use of yoga to enhance personal and social well being. He has founded the RussaYog® style of yoga and runs studios and training centers in USA. You can find out more at www.russayog.com.
