She was married to John Godfrey Moore on the Nineteenth of March, Eighteen hundred and seventy-two, and her long, patient, and heroic struggle against insidious and inexorable disease terminated on the Seventeenth of February, Eighteen hundred and ninety. She was a woman of remarkable intellectual force, and her gifts were developed by self-imposed tasks of study rarely undertaken by those of her social accomplishments and surroundings. Though fettered by delicate and gradually failing health, which made the later years of her life a physical martyrdom, her ambition never faltered, and her courage never failed.
