His teachers include Eumir Deodato in Brazil, and the great Nadia Boulanger in Paris. From 1964-67 he led his own trio, recorded two albums for rca, and toured with singers Elis Regina and Milton Nascimento. Teaming up with a lyricist, Adolfo wrote tunes that gained great success, and have been recorded 500 times by such artists as Sergio Mendes, Stevie Wonder, Herb Alpert, Earl Klugh, Yutaka, and others. He has won the International Brazilian Song Contest on two occasions.In 1985 Mr. Adolfo created his own school which has more than 700 students.
