Burton L. Collins was born in the town of Berwick, Kings County, Nova Scotia, in the year 1880, of English parents. This town is distant twenty miles from Grand Pré, famous in history as the scene of the expulsion of the Acadians. Mr. Collins received his early instruction in the schools of his native town, and later attended the County Academy at Huntsville. His inclination in his studies was toward the classics. He manifested a taste for versification at a very tender age. He removed to Hartford in 1898, where he now resides.
