This open access book is largely based on presentations made at the regular Skills Forums organized by the Asian Development Bank and held in Manila. In addition to mainly examining the area of technical and vocational education and training the book also addresses issues concerning education and training with regard to the Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) continuum and post-secondary (higher) education, concerning skills development for employability. This book analyzes the main drivers that are influencing the dramatic evolution of work in Asia and the Pacific and identifies the implications for education and training in the region. It also assesses how education and training philosophies, curricula, and pedagogy can be reshaped to produce workers with the skills required to meet the emerging demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
