The general and more public aspects of the event have been admirably brought out by Dr. Buchanan in the History of the Ten Years' Con¿ict, and by Dr. Hanna in his Memoirs of Dr. Chalmers. But there are other important objects which may be served by giving in greater detail the experience of individual ministers in their separate parishes.
