Animal Welfare Legislation in Canada and Germany
BücherAngebote / Angebote:
This thesis compares Canadian and German animal welfare legislation, in order to elaborate recommendations for improving animal welfare in Germany. Far-reaching similarities between husbandry systems in both countries warrant a comparison from a practical point of view. The Canadian animal protection regulations are first examined thematically. They show considerable differences in structure and content. In addition, some important voluntary initiatives are examined. It becomes clear that the German legislation is positive in structure and scope. However, many Canadian regulations are easier to apply, and the Canadian enforcement practice is advantageous. In conclusion, dovetailing between legislation and voluntary self-organization is recommended for improving animal welfare in Germany.
