This answer may do for the modem biologist, it would not have saved (Edipus from the Sphinx. Living things are quite apart from things which are not living. Mr. Huxley tells us that science knows no link between them. It is not a question of beauty of form or delicacy of structure, or intricacy in the arrangement of parts.
