Alan Evans took darts out of the pubs of South Wales and on to the nation's TV screens. The first full-time darts professional, Evans became almost as well known for his Elvis suits and pink Rolls-Royce. In 1975 he was world number one, but a series of scrapes prevented him from winning the World Professional title, and he left us too early at 49.
