A Simpler Path' springs from the belief that organised religion, particularly that of Christianity, has become over- complicated and burdened by theology and doctrine which actually hinder our spiritual growth. As a solution to this problem, two alternatives are offered. The first is to be found in the writings of the Fourteenth Century mystic, Dame Julian of Norwich, the second, in the Second Century "Meditations " of Marcus Aurelius. Though springing from different sources, I believe that both these alternatives chart a simpler path to self- enlightenment and may be of some help in achieving this goal.
