A Practical Salient Region Based Hierarchical Method
BücherAngebote / Angebote:
Recently, a novel hybrid image alignment method for2D images was presented, which is based onconfigural matching of automatically extracted, scale-invariant salient region features. The approachcombines advantageous aspects of both feature andintensity based methods. This work proposes anextension of the algorithm to 3D. Its applicabilityis discussed on both mono- and multi-modality medical3D images for change detection, tumor localization ortime based intra person studies. We describe howresults of the rigid body alignment approach can beincorporated into a subsequent non-linearregistration. Besides the practical work, the workpresents an overview of current research in the fieldof rigid and non-rigid hybrid image alignment methodsand existing patents. The following problems arediscussed: an overview of hybrid image alignmentmethods, the implementation of the salient regionbased matching method for 3D images, a statisticaloptimization framework that is suitable for thesalient region based 3D image matching, andpossibilities for an integration of a non-linearalignment method.
