A Mountie's Experiences in the '50s

Angebote / Angebote:

A Mountie's Experiences in the '50s" is a short summary of some of the experiences of Norman Wray, a young Mountie, R.C.M. Police Constable, a police officer from the days of his police training in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada in the mid-'50s. It describes some of his real experiences while serving at several postings in Ottawa, Ontario, the Brockville Detachment, and Maniwaki, Quebec which included the Maniwaki Indian Reserve as well as the permanent year 'round Maniwaki Reserve annex at Barriere (Rapid) Lake, Quebec. The Aboriginal residents in makeshift houses, huts and tents had refused to take residence on the Maniwaki Reserve since it was first established in the mid-1800s. A Residential School in Mont-Laurier, QC, is featured in Chapter 10. Some names have been changed and some of the experiences have been slightly embellished.
