A Manual for Ministers (Classic Reprint)

Angebote / Angebote:

Excerpt from A Manual for MinistersI submit this Manual to my brethren of the ministry, hoping they Will give it a favor able reception and find it in some measure useful. Some of the forms given in it have been used by me, and friends have been kind enough to highly commend them. But such praise has not led me to regard them as perfect. Others will, doubtless, find in them many imperfections, and see how they may be improved in many ways. Still, ministers may perhaps find them serviceable, as a builder sometimes finds it easier and less costly to change an old structure into accord with his ideal than to' construct a new one.As will be seen, this Manual is largely a compilation. It abounds in quotations. Here and there, short extracts from different writers are linked together in one paragraph, some what as ¿owers are plucked from many stems and bound together in a bouquet. Thus inter linked, they could not well be credited to their different authors without marring the text, and I have merely placed them in quotation marks. In some cases the wording has been slightly changed to make them fit in, but in every case the thought of the author has been faithfully preserved. R. C.
