Accordingly, after very mature consideration, every thing has been retrenched that did not coo lucide with the young scholar's capacity and the room thus made has been filled up with what more usually catches his attention. He has here given to him what he will notice at present, instead of what he may look for at a more advanced period of his studies. He has laid before him what will be immediately useful, for what might be serviceable hereafter. Very few phrases are given, and that only when an indeclinable part of speechfjoined with another -word, may be construed brie¿y by an adverbial expression.
