Marie Harris was born in Kentucky. Her family moved to Maryland when she was ten. The firstborn in a family of nine children. She started writing poetry at the young age of ten. An avid reader, she has always had a love affair with words. She has won numerous awards for her poetry and continues to challenge herself with writing daily. Writing gives her a sense of peace.
