Yesterday the house of lords had a long debate about receiving the bill for the duke of Norfolks divorce, and rejected it by 6 voices. The Loyalty of Barbadoes is east away in Stokes bay, and the George from Jamaica sunk in the late storm near Sandwich, and the ship Prophet Samuell, richly laden from the West Indies, sunk at the buoy in the Nore. Dr. Owen Wynne is made secretary of the prize office. Said the late king James, when he went hence, lodged in the house of a Florentine merchant here in gold and jewells 200, 000l. value, which he desires may be remitted to France. On Sunday night last 3 hectors came out of a tavern in Holborn, with their swords drawn, and began to break windows, &c., , which a watchman observing, desired them to desist, but one of them stept up to him and run him thro', and left his sword sticking in the body, and another kill'd the watchman's dogg, so run for it, but however said their names are known, and they abscond. Sir John Marsham died on Satturday last, and left his son an estate of 4000l. per ann., and 30, 000l. in money. On Sunday last an highwayman was taken in St. Martins church. Advice from divers sea port towns say severall ships were driven by the late storms from their anchors, but no losse of any shipping. A discourse this day (said to come from Ostend) that Furnes and Dixmude are both surrendred to the French, and that they have raised the seige of Rhinfelden, and retired, but not much creditted. Yesterday 3 coaches wore robb'd, coming from Epsom, of 200l., the robbers told them they borrowed the money to maintain Whitney in prison.
